Waiting...

We got the call this afternoon that they have a liver for Bevan. We rushed down to Denver, grabbing an odd assortment of things that might or might not be useful in the coming days. Bevan was rushed through the admittance process. Now we are sitting, waiting in the pre-operation area. The plane with the liver couldn't land in Denver due to thunder and lightening and so they landed in Colorado Springs instead and a team is driving down there to pick it up and come back here. There is still a chance that the transplant won't go forward. Either the liver could have some problem that wasn't identified by the earlier team, or if they find any sign of cancer spreading once they open Bevan up. The really good news is that it sounds like the liver is a "perfect" liver-- a good match for Bevan's blood type, the right size, and from a healthy 24 year old. There is a pretty high level of uncertainty and we are are just doing our best to keep our minds occupied until something happens.
